Sweet Baby R

Newborns are my absolute favorite thing to photograph. Don’t get me wrong, I love photographing couples in love, beautiful pregnant bellies and amazing vibrant families, but there is just something about capturing those fleeting newborn moments that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Maybe it is remembering how my little guys felt when they were that tiny, or knowing how fast they grow (people talk about how fast kids grow, but until you have one you never quite understand). Whatever the case may be, I consider it an honor and a privilege to be chosen to capture these once-in-a-lifetime images of a new little person.

This time I got to meet sweet little baby R. R was born 3 weeks early, so at just 10 days old he was a tiny little thing. Then again, I am comparing him to my monster of a 3 month old…it’s all about perspective I guess. Anyways, this guy was just too good to me. The whole session was such a pleasure. Mom and Dad were very relaxed, especially for first time parents. Oh, an R was such a sleepy guy! I posed him for about 90 minutes before he woke up to eat…then he stayed alert for me to get some awesome awake shots. It was like he knew he was having his picture taken. Each time I would go to focus in on him, he would turn his head and look right at my camera. Perfect! He was a joy to hang out with and I wish Mom and Dad all the best in their journey as a family of three.
