About

Hi! I’m Whitney. I live in Myrtle Beach, SC with my 3 crazy boys and my amazing, creative husband. I specialize in photographing maternity, birth and newborns through 1 year. I am inspired by everything around me, especially my boys. I have watched them grow from gorgeous, squishy little newborns into fun, unique little boys. My home is filled with images of them growing and I treasure each and every one of those photographs. Looking back at those photos brings so much joy to not only my husband and I, but now our children get to look back and see when they were in my belly or the first time I saw them. That is why it is such a blessing for me to be able to capture these precious and short-lived moments for other families.

My approach to photography is natural and classic with a little bit of a unique twist. I’m completely in love with photographing those tiny little squishy bodies, capturing just how tiny they are and how incredibly loved they are. I also make it a point to incorporate something special to mom and dad into the session to personalize the experience a bit more. I truly do love every moment of what I do and I am constantly trying to learn and find new inspiration.

I am also an active advocate for women’s birthing rights and breastfeeding support and education. I firmly believe that each and every woman should have the birth she wants. Whether it’s in a hospital or at home, medicated or natural, it should be how she wants it as long as there are not major complications. Having delivered 3 children myself and having 3 very different birth experiences, I wished so many times that I had been fully informed before giving birth. Birth is such a beautiful, empowering experience and an incredibly meaningful time in every woman’s life, she should be able to listen to her body and have the labor and delivery of her dreams. I’m also heavily involved in breastfeeding support and education. The lack of support, education and motivation for women that truly want to breastfeed is causing them to feel they are unable or somehow “failed”. These are all things that I have experienced, and now with my third child, I have experienced what it is to successfully breastfeed for over a year. This has fueled my passion to provide as much information and support to every mommy-to-be and new mom that I meet. I am simply passionate about informing and empowering women to have the experiences that they desire. Along these same lines, I also provide breastfeeding photography services to new and nursing moms.

As a small business owner I feel that it is so important to give back. I donate my services to 2 wonderful charities. The first is Red Thread Sessions. RTS provides photography sessions including homecoming, birth and family, to families going through the process of expanding their family through adoption. This organization is very near and dear to my heart since I am an adoptee myself. I also volunteer for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, an organization that provides bereavement session for families who have experienced the loss of a baby. Both of these organizations or amazing and have enriched my life in more ways than I can say.

Well, thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little. I’d love to get to know you, so please feel free to contact me through my contact page to schedule a consultation :)
